Name: TSST CDDVDW SH 222BB ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check that BIOS sees the SH-222BB, then in Device Manager uninstall the optical drive entry and rescan. Reseat the SATA data/power cables or try another SATA port. Optical drives normally use Windows’ native driver, so avoid installing unrelated “ATA” drivers.

Question 2

Install/firmware update fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the TSST package as administrator, close burning apps, and confirm the exact model SH-222BB. If Windows already provides a working driver, don’t force an older package; a failed firmware flash can leave the drive unusable.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old third-party burning suites or virtual-drive tools that load optical filters, then reboot. If Device Manager shows an error code, uninstall the drive and let Windows reinstall the generic CD/DVD driver.
