Question 1

Install fails or Device Manager shows a warning?

Accepted Answer

Windows normally provides the correct ATAPI/optical driver. Don’t force an unrelated TSST package; uninstall the device under DVD/CD-ROM drives, restart, and let Windows reinstall it. If setup still fails, run it as administrator and check the ATA/SATA controller driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm power and data cable seating, try another SATA/ATA port and cable, and check BIOS/UEFI sees the TSST H652M. In Windows, rescan hardware in Device Manager; remove stale upper/lower filter drivers if the drive appears only there.

Question 3

Version conflicts after updates?

Accepted Answer

Roll back or uninstall the optical drive entry, then reboot. Keep the motherboard chipset/storage driver current; avoid mixing old TSST firmware utilities with generic DVD drivers.
