Name: TSST CD DVDW TS H552B ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Windows normally uses its built-in CD/DVD driver. If a TSST package refuses to install, confirm it matches the H552B hardware ID; do not force a generic ATA/chipset driver. In Device Manager, uninstall the drive, restart, and let Windows reinstall it.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check SATA/ATA power and data cables, confirm the drive appears in BIOS/UEFI, and use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes. If it shows but has no letter, assign one in Disk Management.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows update?

Accepted Answer

Roll back the driver in Device Manager, or uninstall and restart to restore the standard CD-ROM driver. Install firmware only from TSST/OEM for the exact H552B model; avoid third-party driver updaters.
