Question 1

Install fails or drive shows Code 10/28?

Accepted Answer

The SH-S183L uses Windows’ native optical driver; don’t install unrelated third-party drivers. Remove the device in Device Manager, restart, and let Windows reinstall it. Run any firmware/setup tool as administrator.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm the drive appears in BIOS/UEFI. Set the correct SATA mode and install current chipset/SATA drivers.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows updates?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the optical drive entry, reboot, and avoid forced vendor drivers. If burning/playback fails, update chipset drivers and use compatible media; test with Windows’ built-in burning tools.
