Author: Trident

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run setup as Administrator, use Windows XP/2000 compatibility mode for legacy packages, and install through Device Manager > Update driver > Browse. Disable driver signature enforcement if the Trident package is unsigned.

Question 2

Device not detected or Code 43?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the card and confirm the correct PCI/AGP variant is in the matching slot. Check Device Manager for an unknown display adapter, then install the base Trident display driver before the ICD/OpenGL component.

Question 3

Version conflicts or OpenGL crashes?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Trident display/ICD entries and related Programs and Features items, reboot, then install a matching display driver and ICD package. Avoid mixing Windows generic VGA with the Trident ICD; roll back in Device Manager if needed.
