Question 1

Install fails or setup exits early?

Accepted Answer

Legacy Trident 9320 PCI packages may not run on modern 64-bit Windows. Run setup as administrator in compatibility mode for the target OS, or install the INF via Device Manager. For unsigned legacy drivers, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI card, enable PCI/VGA in BIOS, and disable onboard video override if present. Try another PCI slot and check Device Manager for an unknown VGA/display device; assign an IRQ if BIOS permits.

Question 3

Version conflicts or black screen?

Accepted Answer

Boot into Safe Mode, uninstall existing Trident/VGA drivers and duplicate display adapters, reboot, then install only the driver matching the 9320 PCI card and OS. Use Device Manager rollback if display fails after updating.
