Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Cougar driver package as administrator and in compatibility mode for the supported Windows version; if Windows blocks the legacy driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall.

Question 2

Joystick/throttle not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the Cougar directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, avoid unpowered hubs, reseat both cable connections, and check Device Manager for unknown devices; power-cycle the HOTAS before opening the Cougar Control Panel.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Cougar drivers and Thrustmaster joystick software first, reboot, then install only the matching 32/64-bit package; avoid mixing Control Panel versions.
