Name: Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar (OUT) Driver
Author: Thrustmaster

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the HOTAS Cougar before running the Thrustmaster installer as administrator. Use Windows compatibility mode for the package’s supported Windows version, reboot, then reconnect the stick and throttle.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the Cougar directly into a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub or front-panel port. In Device Manager, remove any failed/unknown joystick entry, then reconnect and let Windows re-enumerate it.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Thrustmaster Cougar drivers, firmware utilities, and calibration software first. Reboot, then install one matching driver/firmware set; avoid mixing beta and retail packages.
