Name: ThinkPad Display 1440x900 Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The package may target a different Windows version/architecture or conflict with an existing Lenovo/Windows display driver. Run as administrator, confirm 32/64-bit match, uninstall the current display adapter in Device Manager with “Delete driver software,” reboot, then reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected / wrong resolution?

Accepted Answer

The 1440x900 panel EDID may not be read after a chipset or graphics update. Check Device Manager for hidden/error devices, update chipset/graphics first, reboot, then set 1440x900 manually in Display Settings if listed.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update or Lenovo System Update can replace the IBM driver and reset scaling. Use “Roll Back Driver,” pause automatic driver updates, and reinstall the matching ThinkPad display package.
