Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Avoid legacy TI USB 3.0 installers on modern Windows. Use the Microsoft in-box xHCI driver via Device Manager: right-click the controller > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > select “Microsoft USB xHCI Host Controller,” then reboot.

Question 2

Controller not detected / USB 3.0 ports run at USB 2.0?

Accepted Answer

Enable xHCI in BIOS/UEFI, disable Fast Boot, and check the card’s PCIe power/slot. In Device Manager, uninstall any unknown USB device and scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Code 10/43 or version conflicts after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

Roll back the driver or manually select the Microsoft driver. Uninstall the device with “Delete the driver software,” reboot, and disable USB selective suspend to prevent power-related resets.
