Question 1

Install fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

The Tally 2250 uses a legacy impact-printer driver. Run the installer as administrator, try Windows 7 compatibility mode, and only temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if the package is unsigned. Prefer a signed TallyGenicom package.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the Tally 2250 and set it online before booting the PC. For parallel models, enable LPT in BIOS, reseat/replace the cable, and add a Local Printer on LPT1. For serial, use the correct COM port and settings. Check Device Manager for an unknown port.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Tally/TallyGenicom queues and drivers in Print Management, reboot, then install one package matching x86/x64 Windows. Avoid generic Epson/IBM emulation unless the printer’s emulation mode matches.
