Name: TallyGenicom 6605 Driver
Author: TallyGenicom

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

The 6605 uses a legacy printer driver; run the TallyGenicom installer as Administrator, try Windows compatibility mode, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if Windows blocks it. If setup still fails, add the printer manually via Print Management using the extracted INF.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the 6605 is online and passes a self-test. Reseat the parallel/USB/serial cable, try another port, and check Device Manager. Create the correct local port (LPT1, COM, or USB) instead of relying on WSD auto-detection.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old TallyGenicom or generic text drivers in Print Management, restart the print spooler, then install only the matching 6605 Windows driver. Avoid mixing 32-bit/64-bit or older 6600-series packages.
