Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Older TallyGenicom T2280 packages may be blocked on Windows 10/11. Run the setup as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode, or use the latest signed driver package; avoid installing through Device Manager’s generic update.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the dot-matrix printer’s power, self-test, and cable. In Printer Properties, select the correct port—LPT1 for parallel, USB001 for USB, or the matching COM port and serial settings.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Tally/Genicom printer queues and drivers in Print Server Properties, reboot, then install one driver package. Don’t mix generic Epson/IBM emulation drivers with the T2280 driver.
