Name: Synaptics WBDI(SGX enabled) Driver
Author: Synaptics

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The SGX-enabled sensor may need Intel SGX/Software Guard Extensions enabled in UEFI and a reboot before setup. Confirm the driver package matches your Windows architecture and the Synaptics hardware ID.

Question 2

Device not detected / Windows Hello missing?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager under Biometric devices. Set Windows Biometric Service (WbioSrvc) to Automatic and start it, then rescan hardware. Remove any prior fingerprint driver and reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts with Windows Update or older Synaptics drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the existing driver with Delete driver software, reboot, and install the Synaptics WBDI package manually. If Windows Update overwrites it, roll back in Device Manager or pause updates during installation.
