Name: Symbol USB Sync Driver
Author: Symbol Technologies

Question 1

Driver install fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Run the Symbol installer as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for older packages. If Windows rejects the driver signature, confirm you have the correct Symbol Technologies release for your Windows version before changing signature settings.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Install Windows Mobile Device Center/ActiveSync first, then connect the Symbol handheld directly to a rear USB port. On the device, set USB connection to ActiveSync/RNDIS, not mass storage, and try a known-good sync cable or cradle.

Question 3

Version conflicts with older Symbol USB drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous Symbol USB Sync driver and Windows Mobile Device Center, remove hidden/ghost USB devices in Device Manager, reboot, then install one matching driver package. Avoid mixing 32-bit and 64-bit or Windows Mobile/CE-specific packages.
