Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The 8200S uses a legacy SCSI miniport driver. If setup exits or the driver is rejected, run the installer in compatibility mode, then use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse > “Let me pick” > Have Disk and point to the correct 32/64-bit `.inf`. Disable driver signature enforcement only if the vendor package is unsigned.

Question 2

Adapter or device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI card and try another slot; confirm it appears under SCSI controllers in Device Manager. For attached disks, check SCSI ID conflicts, termination, and cabling.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing Symbios/LSI SCSI controller driver before installing, and match the driver to the Windows architecture. If duplicate controller entries exist, uninstall the old one and reboot.
