Name: Star MSP 245 Printer Driver
Author: Star Micronics

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the MSP 245 first, remove any existing Star Micronics printer entries in Print Management, run the installer as administrator, and reboot before reconnecting the USB or parallel cable.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the printer and run a self-test, try a known-good USB/parallel cable and port, avoid USB hubs, then check Device Manager for an unknown device and install the driver manually from the extracted INF file.

Question 3

Version or port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Star drivers, delete duplicate MSP 245 queues, clear stuck print jobs/restart the spooler, and confirm the queue uses the correct port (USB00x or LPT1) in Printer Properties.
