Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sonix ST50220 setup as administrator and confirm you have the correct 32/64-bit package for your Windows version. If Windows blocks an unsigned or outdated installer, use the signed driver through Device Manager instead.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for “Unknown device,” Code 43, or an entry under Imaging devices/USB controllers. Try a different USB port (prefer rear ports, avoid unpowered hubs), reseat the cable, then uninstall the faulty device and rescan for hardware.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Old Sonix or generic “USB Video Device” drivers can override the ST50220 package. Uninstall the device and delete its driver software, restart, then install the correct ST50220 driver. Verify Provider/Version in Device Manager and prevent Windows Update from replacing it.
