Question 1

Driver installation fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Download the SoftDog USB driver from the manufacturer, run the installer as administrator, and reboot. If Windows blocks it, verify the publisher/signature before allowing installation; avoid generic USB drivers.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the SoftDog directly to a rear USB port, not an unpowered hub. Check Device Manager for unknown/USB devices, reinstall the driver, and test another port or PC to rule out the dongle.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older SoftDog/license-key drivers and related vendor software, reboot, then install only the latest matching driver. Ensure the driver architecture and application version match.
