Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sitecom WL 356 setup as Administrator and temporarily disable antivirus/SmartScreen. Unplug the USB adapter during setup, then reconnect when prompted. If it still fails, uninstall any previous Sitecom/Ralink USB Wi-Fi driver and reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a rear USB 2.0 port directly on the PC, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for “Unknown device” or hidden network adapters; uninstall it, then scan for hardware changes. Confirm the adapter’s LED is on.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate wireless adapters and old driver entries in Device Manager. If Windows installs a generic driver that causes drops, roll back or update to the Sitecom driver matching your Windows version, then reboot.
