Name: SiS Mirage 3 Graphics Driver
Author: SiS

Question 1

Installer fails or exits silently?

Accepted Answer

SiS Mirage 3 packages are often legacy and may not run on newer Windows. Run the setup as Administrator in Windows compatibility mode, or install the driver manually via Device Manager → Update driver → Browse → select the extracted INF file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the display adapter appears in Device Manager, preferably with its hardware ID. If it shows as “Standard VGA” or has a warning icon, extract the driver package first, then point Device Manager to the correct INF folder.

Question 3

Version conflicts or black screen?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing SiS/third-party display driver before installing. If the screen goes black after install, boot into Safe Mode, roll back the driver, and install the package matching your exact Windows version and architecture.
