Name: SiS Accelerated Graphics Port Driver
Author: SiS

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the SiS AGP/chipset installer as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode if needed. Install the SiS AGP/GART driver before the graphics card driver, then reboot.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS that AGP is enabled and the AGP aperture is set (e.g., 64–128 MB), not disabled or PCI-only. Reseat the AGP card and confirm Device Manager shows no unknown PCI bridge/AGP controller.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any old SiS AGP/GART driver in Safe Mode via Device Manager, reboot, and install the package matching your chipset and Windows version. Avoid mixing motherboard AGP drivers with unrelated GPU vendor packages; roll back if a newer driver breaks display or stability.
