Question 1

Installation fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the SilverCrest 50946SC driver installer as administrator, close other webcam apps, and temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks the setup. If it still fails, use Device Manager > Update driver.

Question 2

Webcam not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the camera directly to a rear USB port, avoid unpowered hubs, try another cable, and check Device Manager for unknown devices. Confirm any privacy shutter or camera switch is open.

Question 3

Version conflicts or old drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the existing SilverCrest webcam driver and related app, reboot, then install the latest package. If problems start after an update, use Device Manager > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver.
