Name: Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller Driver
Author: Silicon Image

Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The SiI 3112 driver is legacy and may be unsigned or blocked. Try running the installer in compatibility mode for Windows XP/7, or manually update the driver via Device Manager using the extracted `.inf` file.

Question 2

Controller not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check that the SiI 3112 is enabled in BIOS/UEFI and that drives are connected before boot. In Device Manager, look under “SCSI and RAID controllers”; if missing, rescan for hardware or try a different PCI slot.

Question 3

Version conflicts/BSODs?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing Silicon Image/SATARaid driver entries first, then install the correct 32-bit or 64-bit SiI 3112 package. Avoid mixing generic Silicon Image drivers with motherboard-specific RAID BIOS versions.
