Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing Sierra Wireless WWAN driver and associated software first, reboot, then run the installer as administrator. If setup still fails, check that the package matches your Windows version and modem model; avoid forcing an unsigned or generic INF.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the WWAN module is enabled in Device Manager and not disabled by airplane mode or a physical wireless switch. Reseat the modem if accessible, and check for “Unknown device” or “Other devices” entries before reinstalling the Sierra driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update may replace the Sierra driver with a generic WWAN driver. Roll back or uninstall the conflicting driver, install the correct Sierra package, then reboot. Verify firmware and OS build compatibility to prevent repeated replacement.
