Name: Sierra Wireless USB 598 Device Driver
Author: Sierra Wireless

Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the USB 598, uninstall older Sierra Wireless/3G Watcher software and any related modem entries in Device Manager, reboot, then run the installer as administrator. Reconnect the device only when prompted.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port instead of a hub, try another cable/port, and check Device Manager for an unknown or COM device. If present, update the driver manually and point Windows to the downloaded Sierra Wireless driver files.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Sierra Wireless and generic mobile-broadband drivers before installing. Match the driver to your Windows version and architecture, then reboot and confirm the USB 598 appears under modems/ports without errors.
