Name: Sierra Wireless AirCard 597E Modem Device Driver
Author: Sierra Wireless

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sierra Wireless package as administrator, reboot, and install before inserting the AirCard 597E. On 64-bit Windows, legacy unsigned drivers may require temporarily disabling driver signature enforcement.

Question 2

Modem not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the ExpressCard in the powered slot, then reboot with it inserted. Check Device Manager for unknown devices or Modems; if absent, verify the ExpressCard controller and slot are enabled.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older AirCard/Watcher software and remove hidden modem entries in Device Manager, then install only the 597E-compatible driver package. Avoid mixing Sprint SmartView and Sierra Watcher.
