Question 1

Install fails or PPD not found?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the driver architecture matches Windows (32/64-bit). Extract the Sharp MX 1810U PPD package first, then use Add Printer > Have Disk and point directly to the PPD file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check USB port/cable or the printer’s TCP/IP address. For network use, create a Standard TCP/IP port and enable RAW/9100 or LPR; avoid WSD if discovery fails.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

In Print Management, remove old Sharp MX 1810U driver packages and stale queues, reboot, then reinstall the latest PPD. Do not mix PCL and PostScript drivers on the same queue.
