Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp AR X180 installer as administrator and pause antivirus. Confirm you downloaded the correct 32/64-bit package for your Windows version. If setup still fails, add the printer manually via Printer Properties > Add Printer > Have Disk and point to the driver’s INF file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, connect directly to a rear port and replace the cable. For network use, confirm the AR X180’s IP address, ping it, and create a TCP/IP printer port with that address. Restart the Print Spooler service.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Sharp AR X180 and other PCL/PS drivers, reboot, then install one driver package. Avoid mixing WSD and TCP/IP ports; set the correct port as default. Reinstall the Sharp scan utility if scanning stops after a driver update.
