Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp installer as administrator, close print apps, and restart the Print Spooler service. Remove any partial Sharp AR M550N entries in Printers & scanners before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer is on the network or USB port, check the IP address, and create the correct TCP/IP port for the AR M550N. For USB, try another port/cable and avoid hubs.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Sharp PCL5/PCL6 or universal drivers first, then install the matching AR M550N PCL6 T1 package. Do not mix driver versions; set the new driver as default and reboot if print jobs stall.
