Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Sharp AR M451N/PCL6 drivers first, stop and restart the Print Spooler, then run the installer as administrator. Remove any stale “Sharp AR M451N” printer entries before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, try another port/cable and power-cycle the printer. For network, confirm the MFP’s IP is reachable, use a Standard TCP/IP port with that IP, and ensure PC and printer are on the same subnet.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Avoid mixing PCL5, PCL6, and Sharp universal drivers for the same queue. Delete duplicate AR M451N queues, clear stuck print jobs, reboot, then install only the matching PCL6 T1 package.
