Question 1

Driver install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp AR M257 installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and confirm you downloaded the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package. Remove any stalled print queue before retrying.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, connect directly to the PC rather than a hub and try another port. For network use, verify the AR M257’s IP address, ensure the PC is on the same subnet, and ping the device.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Sharp drivers, delete leftover AR M257 printer entries, restart the Print Spooler service, then reinstall the matching driver and set the correct port.
