Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Sharp setup as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and remove any previous Sharp AL-series printer driver via Programs and Features and Print Management > All Drivers. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

AL 1655CS not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the device before connecting USB, use a direct rear USB 2.0 port rather than a hub, and try a known-good cable. For network-connected units, confirm the IP address and add the printer by IP.

Question 3

Version conflicts / wrong driver?

Accepted Answer

Delete old Sharp AL 1655CS driver packages from the Driver Store, match the package to your Windows 32/64-bit version, then install the latest Sharp driver and reboot before printing or scanning.
