Name: SecuGen SecuGen fingerprint device Driver
Author: SecuGen

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the SecuGen fingerprint reader, uninstall any existing SecuGen driver/software via Apps & Features and Device Manager, reboot, then run the downloaded driver as Administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks the `.sys`/`.inf` files.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for unknown devices or entries under Biometric devices; update the driver by pointing to the extracted SecuGen driver folder. Test the sensor with SecuGen’s diagnostic tool.

Question 3

Version conflicts / Windows Hello errors?

Accepted Answer

Remove older SecuGen drivers and duplicate biometric entries, restart the Windows Biometric Service (`net stop WbioSrvc` / `net start WbioSrvc`), then reinstall the driver version matching your reader model and Windows build.
