Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 installer as administrator, disconnect other fingerprint readers, uninstall older SecuGen drivers, reboot, then reinstall. Confirm antivirus or driver-signature policy isn’t blocking the package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port (not a hub), test another cable, and check Device Manager for “Biometric devices” or unknown USB entries. Remove the device and reinstall the driver.

Question 3

Version/Windows Hello conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall conflicting SecuGen/WBF fingerprint drivers, remove existing Hello enrollment for the reader, reboot, and install the driver matching your Windows build and architecture. Avoid mixing old SDK and driver packages.
