Name: Seagate ST2000DM001 Driver
Author: Seagate

Question 1

Drive not detected in BIOS/Windows?

Accepted Answer

The ST2000DM001 is a SATA HDD and needs no Seagate driver. Check SATA data/power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm BIOS storage mode (AHCI vs RAID). If it appears in Disk Management but not Explorer, initialize/partition it.

Question 2

Windows setup or driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

If Windows Setup cannot see the drive, load the motherboard/controller storage driver. Otherwise update chipset/SATA/AHCI drivers from your PC or motherboard vendor—not Seagate.

Question 3

Version conflicts or dropouts?

Accepted Answer

Mismatched Intel RST/AMD RAID or outdated storage drivers can cause detection errors. Match BIOS SATA mode to the installed driver, update/roll back the controller driver, and run SeaTools/SMART checks for drive health.
