Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the SCR3310, uninstall any previous reader driver in Device Manager (select “Delete the driver software”), reboot, then run the manufacturer’s installer as administrator. Stop the Smart Card service temporarily if the installer reports it is in use.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port directly on the PC, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for unknown/USB devices; in Services, set Smart Card to Automatic and start it. Reconnect the reader and test with a smart card inserted.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update may install a generic CCID driver over the vendor package. Roll back or update the driver in Device Manager and reselect the manufacturer’s SCR3310 driver; if it keeps reverting, pause automatic driver updates during installation.
