Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the SCM setup as administrator, confirm the package matches your Windows version and architecture, and check Device Manager for a signed-driver error. Remove any previous SCM reader driver before retrying.

Question 2

Reader not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the SPR337 directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, look for an unknown/USB device; if present, uninstall it, reconnect, and let Windows re-enumerate. Ensure the Smart Card service is running.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old SCM or generic CCID smart-card drivers, including hidden devices, reboot, then install the current SPR337 package. Avoid mixing vendor and Windows Update drivers.
