Question 1

Driver install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the Scarlett 4i4 before running the installer, run it as administrator, and reboot before reconnecting. If it still fails, uninstall the previous Focusrite USB driver and retry with the latest version.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port instead of a hub, try a different USB cable/port, and confirm the 4i4 appears in Windows Device Manager. Reconnect after the driver and Focusrite Control are fully installed.

Question 3

Version conflicts / Focusrite Control errors?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Focusrite USB driver and Focusrite Control versions, reboot, then install matching current driver and Control releases. Avoid mixing beta and older packages.
