Name: SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4GB USB Device Driver
Author: SanDisk

Question 1

Install fails or “USB device not recognized”?

Accepted Answer

Reset the Fuze by holding the power slider up for about 15 seconds, try a known data cable and a rear USB port, then remove any existing SanDisk Sansa entries in Device Manager and reconnect so Windows can install its built-in USB/MTP driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

On the Fuze, check Settings > System Settings > USB Mode. Use MSC for plain file transfer or MTP for media sync, then reconnect. Avoid unpowered USB hubs.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

If multiple Sansa drivers appear, uninstall them in Device Manager with “Delete driver software,” reboot, and let Windows Update install the current MTP/Mass Storage driver. Avoid forcing older SanDisk driver packages on modern Windows.
