Question 1

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port (prefer a rear direct port), check Disk Management for an unassigned drive letter, and reinstall the USB Mass Storage driver in Device Manager. Test on another PC to rule out the SanDisk Extreme itself.

Question 2

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and use the official SanDisk package. If it still fails, update the driver manually via Device Manager > USB Mass Storage Device.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows’ generic USB Mass Storage driver is usually sufficient. Uninstall older SanDisk/USB storage drivers, reboot, and let Windows reinstall the correct version. Avoid third-party driver updaters.
