Name: Saitek ST290 Pro (USB) Driver
Author: Saitek

Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

Run the Saitek ST290 Pro installer as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode. If Windows blocks the old unsigned driver, extract the package and update the driver manually via Device Manager, temporarily disabling driver signature enforcement if required.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the ST290 Pro directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for unknown devices or entries under “Human Interface Devices”/“Sound, video and game controllers”; unplug/replug and scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Driver/software version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Saitek/Mad Catz software and remove hidden USB gaming devices in Device Manager. Reboot, then install only one ST290 Pro driver package; avoid mixing Windows’ generic HID driver with legacy Saitek software.
