Name: Saitek P990 Dual Analog Pad (HID) Driver
Author: Saitek

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The P990 uses legacy Saitek software. Run the installer as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode, reboot, and retry. If Windows blocks the driver, check the publisher before allowing legacy/unsigned drivers.

Question 2

Pad not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB port, not an unpowered hub. In Device Manager, look for “Unknown USB Device” or a HID-compliant game controller; uninstall the faulty entry, replug the pad, then verify it in `joy.cpl`.

Question 3

Old Saitek/Mad Catz or generic HID conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove previous Saitek drivers and hidden HID game-controller entries, reboot, and install only one driver version. If buttons map incorrectly, recalibrate in Windows Game Controllers.
