Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the legacy Saitek P2600 setup as administrator in Windows compatibility mode. If it still fails, extract the driver and install manually via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse to the INF file.

Question 2

Pad not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the USB pad directly into a rear port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown device or HID game controller; remove stale entries with USBDeview, then reconnect.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Saitek/Mad Catz software and driver packages first, reboot, then install only one matching 32/64-bit version. For Code 10/43 errors, uninstall the device, scan for hardware changes, and reinstall.
