Name: Roland SH 201 Driver
Author: Roland

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the SH-201 before running the Roland driver installer. Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, reboot if prompted, then connect the synth only after setup finishes.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB 2.0 port, not a hub, and confirm the SH-201 is powered on with a data-capable USB cable. Check Device Manager for an unknown device, then reinstall the Roland driver with the SH-201 disconnected.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate ports?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Roland drivers and remove hidden devices, reboot, then install the latest driver for your Windows version. In your DAW, reselect the “SH-201” MIDI port rather than a generic USB-MIDI entry.
