Author: RocketFish

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Rocketfish setup as administrator in Windows compatibility mode for the OS version listed on the download page. Disconnect the webcam during installation, close other camera apps, and temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks the older installer. Reboot before reconnecting.

Question 2

Webcam not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB 2.0 port directly on the PC, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for Unknown device or Imaging devices; uninstall it, rescan, and reinstall. Confirm Windows camera privacy access is enabled for desktop apps.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any prior webcam software and driver, including hidden camera devices, then reboot. Install only the Rocketfish 2MP AF package; avoid generic USB video drivers. If autofocus fails after an update, roll back to the previous working driver.
