Question 1

Installer fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Close DAWs, TotalMix FX, and other audio apps, then run the RME installer as Administrator. Temporarily pause antivirus and reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Babyface not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port instead of a hub, try a known-good cable, and power-cycle the interface. Check Device Manager for unknown USB devices; avoid Class Compliant mode if the Windows driver is required.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older RME drivers and TotalMix entries, reboot, then install the latest stable driver from RME. Don’t mix beta and stable installs, and confirm firmware/TotalMix versions match.
