Name: Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver
Author: Renesas

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator and use the package matching your Windows version/architecture. If Windows blocks an unsigned/older INF, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement or install via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse, then reboot.

Question 2

Controller not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm xHCI/USB 3.0 is enabled in BIOS/UEFI and the card is seated/powered, including SATA/PCIe power if required. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if listed with a warning, uninstall the device and reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts, BSODs, or ports dropping?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Renesas/OEM USB 3.0 drivers first, reboot, then install one matched driver version. Avoid mixing Windows Update and vendor packages; use Device Manager > Roll Back Driver if a new version breaks ports.
