Question 1

Installer fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Close Razer Synapse and other Razer software, run the driver installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. Unplug the BlackWidow Ultimate during install if prompted, then reconnect it directly to a rear USB port.

Question 2

Keyboard not detected?

Accepted Answer

Avoid USB hubs, KVM switches, and front-panel ports. Connect the BlackWidow Ultimate directly to the PC, try another USB port/computer, and check Device Manager for unknown USB devices. Older revisions may need a USB 2.0 port.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Razer Synapse versions and existing BlackWidow drivers, reboot, then install only the package matching your keyboard’s revision. Do not mix Synapse 2 and Synapse 3 installs; update firmware only after the device is detected correctly.
