Name: Ralink RT61 Turbo Wireless LAN Card Driver
Author: Ralink

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The RT61 package is legacy and may fail on newer Windows due to unsigned or incompatible setup. Run it as administrator in compatibility mode, or extract the package and update the driver manually via Device Manager using the INF file.

Question 2

Card not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI card and check Device Manager for an unknown network controller. Install the RT61 INF manually rather than relying on auto-detect.

Question 3

Version/utility conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Old Ralink drivers and utilities can conflict. Uninstall previous Ralink software, remove hidden driver entries, reboot, then install only the matching RT61 driver.
